Ever since she took gymnastics as a child, Mary has been interested in the movement of the body and fascinated by the relationship between body and mind. Mary was introduced to Pilates in 2008 and it didn’t take her long to become a believer as she saw how the practice transformed her posture, strength, body awareness, as well as her mind and spirit. She started teaching mat classes in 2011 at a fitness & dance studio in Boston, and went on to complete her mat, reformer, and comprehensive equipment training with Balanced Body faculty members Page Sieffert in Nosara, Costa Rica and Nanci Patch in Georgetown, Texas.
As a Pilates trainer, Mary is excited about helping her clients develop more body awareness and strength and facilitate the exercises to become a foundation for transforming everyday movement patterns. These small changes make a huge difference in functional movement and daily life. As Joseph Pilates wrote, “self-confidence, poise, consciousness of possessing the power to accomplish our desires with renewed lively interest in life are the natural results” of the Pilates method.

In her spare time Mary is an outdoor sport enthusiast and avid traveler; if you have suggestions for her in these areas, she’d love to hear and swap stories! Most recently, she’s been trying trapeze classes at a local aerial studio, and is planning a middle east adventure in spring of 2018.

Mary is CPR certified and is happy to have been a part of the team at Mauro Pilates since 2014!
