Ever since she took gymnastics as a child, Mary has been interested in the movement of the body and fascinated by the relationship between body and mind. Mary was introduced to Pilates in 2008 and it didn’t take her long to become a believer as she saw how the practice transformed her posture, strength, body awareness, as well as her mind and spirit. She started teaching mat classes in 2011 and studied both Mat and Reformer through the Balanced Body curriculum with faculty member Page Sieffert of Pilates Nosara in 2013.
As a Pilates trainer, Mary is excited about helping her clients develop more body awareness and strength and facilitate the exercises to become a foundation for transforming everyday movement patterns. These small changes make a huge difference. As Joseph Pilates wrote, “self-confidence, poise, consciousness of possessing the power to accomplish our desires with renewed lively interest in life are the natural results” of the Pilates method.

In her spare time Mary is an outdoor sport enthusiast and avid traveler, recently spending a year in New Zealand and Australia. Her other passions include staying involved in her church as a teacher and musician, raising awareness about the widespread problem of human trafficking, and working with teenagers through education and mentoring.

Mary is CPR certified and is excited to be a part of the team at Mauro Pilates!
