Erika recently moved to Austin from Washington, DC, where she fell in love with Pilates in 2010. She tried Pilates on a whim, seeking something to combat the effects of a sedentary desk job lifestyle. She became hooked after her first class because she could feel a difference in her core and her posture after just one session, and she found that Pilates was the best method for enhancing her body’s strength and flexibility in a balanced, holistic way.

Wanting to share the positive effects that Pilates had on her own life with others, Erika completed the mat Pilates and anatomy training course with Mariska Breland of Fuse Pilates in 2012, and began teaching group mat classes at the Fuse studio in Dupont Circle shortly thereafter.

Erika began her apparatus training with Balanced Body last year, and since then has taught group reformer classes and more than 250 hours of personal training sessions with private clients.

Erika’s teaching style is both challenging and encouraging, and she likes to use Pilates to empower her clients to enhance their physical and mental health. Always an optimist, she believes there is always room to be happier and stronger, and she makes sure her clients get in both a good sweat and a smile during every session.

In addition to teaching Pilates, Erika works as a freelance media and marketing strategist for food, fitness, and lifestyle brands. She spends her free time dining out at restaurants, cooking, and reading, and is excited to explore all the fantastic food and fun outdoor activities her new city has to offer.
