I’m SO excited to be in the planning stages of the 2nd Annual Share the Love Fundraiser benefitting Texas Advocacy Project. TAP is a non-profit that provides FREE legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. This organization came to be very important to me last year when I had the awful experience of being stalked.
Having someone outside your home, following you, and following your loved ones is a terrifying experience. What makes it harder is the fact that there are few legal solutions to these problems as of yet, and the amount of time and effort it takes fighting for your safety takes a huge toll on the rest of your life. I was advised several things – including to leave Austin – and it was only with the support of family, friends, and Texas Advocacy Project that I was really able to rebuild my life. It is for these reasons, and many others, that I’m so passionate about raising money for them as I was able to experience firsthand the good that their fundraising does.
So, please join me the evening of February 2, 2012 at 6:30pm at Bar 96 in helping raise funds for this incredible organization.
Wristbands will be $20 and will include drink specials and appetizers from Carmelo’s Italian Restaurant. There will be a silent auction you won’t want to miss featuring great items like a gorgeous necklace from Kendra Scott, a 31-Day Unlimited Pass to Castle Hill Fitness, a month of unlimited yoga at Empower Yoga, a Signature Facial at Milk + Honey Spa, artwork, gift certificates to restaurants, and more.
This event is open to the public. Please spread the word to help Share the Love!
